Iconic new release - 2019 Power of One Shiraz
Since the inception of our small wine company back in 2002, the
Power of One Shiraz has been our flagship.
Bringing together some of the last remaining old vine vineyards
that are dotted about the Adelaide Plains, the careful nurturing
of these vines by the growers and the dedicated craft of
traditional small batch, hand craft wine making.
These vineyards have stood the test of time as many around them
have made way for housing estates and market gardens. Credit to
the growers and families who continue to support us in our
endeavors.
We're very proud to be able to bring you this release, it reflects
exactly why we started making wine. That was to salvage the last
remaining old vines of the Adelaide Plains and showcase the power
and purity they offer.
Once again this vintage delivers the goods, a bold shiraz with
blackness to its core, flush with fruit and power. Enjoy!

DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL CHINA WINE AWARDS
91pts Campbell Mattinson "It's a comforting style of shiraz. It
has some grunt but it's essentially soft, almost leathery..."
2013 is certainly living up to expectations in relation to vintage
quality. The 2013 version of our Longhop Shiraz continues a
tradition of over delivering in the quality to price stakes.
After carefully tasting and classifying the best barrels from the
vintage this blend has come together exceptionally well. Plenty of
luscious big fruit up front a power packed mid-palate that flows
over the tongue with beautiful soft velvety tannins rounding out,
we think its a beauty.

2012 LONGHOP
SHIRAZ
This one's a beauty! For all those
Longhop fans out there... we're back...
Someone once described Longhop Shiaz as being "built like a
rhinoceros". We're not sure about that but the 2012 version
certainly has a big arse end, accompanied by lashing of fruit and
shows plenty of early complexity that keeps ticking over in the
glass.
Our simple approach of combining fruit from three different sub
regions, each with its own terroir, carefull oak selection and
traditional wine making have led to this stunning 2012 release.
Enjoy!

2011 LONGHOP SHIRAZ
The bare hands of old...
Longhop shiraz has strode into its
seventh straight vintage release. This offering from the difficult
2011 wet vintage will surprise many. Fears of doom and gloom not
founded as we made a return to the bare hands of old... the almost
forgotten art of handpicking and hand-selecting much of the 2011
vintage shiraz fruit.
All hands were called, every man and his dog was drafted into the
picking teams as the wet weather set in, machine harvesters
relegated to the bench, they were just destroying the delicate,
soft skinned fruit, as bucket by delicate bucket the fruit came in.
Our persistence and patience has been justly rewarded, the extra
cost and time well spent, we've made a stunner we believe, heady
fresh red berries, flavours intense, persistent, grabbing you on a
wild Euro-style ride.
The vineyards spoke more of terrior this vintage than any other.
Every flavour we'd seen previously was delivered strikingly from
each sub region. Blackpowder of the Adelaide Plains, Angle Vale
and surrounds. Earthern ironstone and quartz laced textures of the
foothills and north ranges.
Open fermented, hand plunged, basket pressed, 11 months in 60%
French and 40% American hogsheads, bottled unfiltered of course

Longhop Shiraz has fast established a reputation as one of
Australia's best value reds. This 2009 version is up there with
the best of them.Dense colour, dense flavour, lakes of tannin
and a good, dry, long finish. Remarkable that this sells for $15.
Lovely clip of fresh, slippery, ceday oak (French and American)
matches beautifully to minty, blackberried, smoky fruit flavour.
There are some sweet, raisiny characters too, forming part of a
delicous parade. Very impressive wine. Rated: 92 Points

Campbell Mattinson review
Massive wine. Pitch - black colour. Rich
with syrupy flavours of coal, blackberry, tar and minerals and
full - on from the first attack of flavour to the last long, warm
finish. An epic wine. It has a good hit of tannin to, and wave
after wave of dark, concentrated fruitiness. Australia's most
powerful wine under $20.

Gary Walsh review
It's slightly mentholated and packed with blackberries and
cherries, a little shake of pepper and some sexy vanillin 'catnip' oak - fragrant and tarry at once. Full bodied and mouth
enveloping. it combines plush dark fruit with a grainy grab of
ripe chewy tannin and a long (slightly) warm finish. The
complexity and satisfaction delivered here for the price is second
to none. Killer value.

LONGHOP 2005
OLD VINE RESERVE
CABERNET SAUVIGNON 65%
SHIRAZ 35%
ADELAIDE PLAINS
Longhop is a very Australian sounding
name and we have made a very Australian type of wine. Cabernet
Sauvignon and Shiraz, this was made from vines planted in the
1950s, which as fate would have it, escaped the vine pull scheme
of the '80s.Very low cropping and picked ripe, full of flavour and
only 160 dozen produced. The end result is a deeply concentrated,
complex, flavoursome wine to cellar for up to a decade and like
most things Australian, will only get better with age. This is
RESERVE quality, this is LONGHOP
We're drinking it now or cellar for 5-7 years.
